Event Details

You’re invited in Nkundagusoma Bookclub’s Books & Tea Evening that’s happening on March 13th, 2019 from 5pm at The women’s bakery.

The book club will be reviewing and discussing the book Children of blood and bone by Tomi Adeyemi. It revels in fantasy tropes, giving us princesses, family betrayals, power struggles and an epic world with a new system of magic to explore and enjoy. But it is the vibrantly drawn, west African-inspired setting that makes this unlike any fantasy readers will have encountered before. An author’s note tells us Children of Blood and Bone was born out of anger, and Adeyemi has channelled this into the best sort of book: a hugely enjoyable escapist story that makes you re-examine the world around you.
